Tribe Lead


 

The Tribe Lead translates the global Telenet strategy into strategic direction, objectives and key results (OKR’s) for his/her Tribe and holds the overall end to end accountability for the value creation and realization of these objectives, directly contributing to the global Telenet P&L.

Specifically, the Commercial Platforms Tribe Lead is responsible for all IT& Digital Platforms and capabilities required to ensure commercial success of the company, this responsibility is across all Telenet brands, customer segments and channels. This responsibility starts from defining the strategic short-medium-long term plans, budget ownership & management, multi-country/continent teams management and ultimately Design-Build-Integrate-Test-Deploy responsibility.

From capabilities perspective this responsibility includes the following areas:

  • eCommerce & eSales capabilities
  • Customer and Business Supporting platforms
  • Marketing, commercial and promotions technical capabilities
  • Omnichannel Front office & back office platforms and capabilities
  • IT Transformation & innovation and continuous improvement
  • E2E Integration with backend platforms, networks, Digital frontend, and other 3rd party capabilities

Success of this role can be summarized into:

  • Partnering with the Business tribes to shape the next commercial activities from a technical and capabilities possibilities
  • Efficiently managing an average value of 100M budget spend per year
  • Positively managing a large, multi-disciplined, multi-country team

Build and managed sustainable partnership relationship with major partners e.g. Infosys, Cognizant, TechMahindra, Pega, NetCracker, Adobe..

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • For his/her Tribe, and in alignment with Senior Leadership and peers, defines the purpose, develops and maintains the strategic direction of product development, sets the objectives and defines key results to enable the Tribe to focus on the right priorities for their customers and on the customer value creation. Acts as a servant leader and such helps people self-organize and facilitates the required work environment to accommodate for that.
  • Leads efficient and self-steering Tribe community and enables cross-Tribe collaboration. Inspires and guides all the Tribe members and their activities (e.g.: manages product and service portfolio) and acts as a “spider in the web” to align the Tribe’s activities with the Telenet strategy, customers (whether the customer is outside or inside of Telenet) and other stakeholders.
    Is the end to end accountable for the delivery of the Tribe objectives, initiatives and/or result(s), ensures full compliance and manages business and operational risks.
  • Embeds and strengthens Telenet Agile Way of Working (TAWOW) and stimulates development and craftmanship of the Tribe. In collaboration with Chapter (Area) Leads (Ch(A)L’s) ensures that the competences, skills and know-how of all the Tribe members are developed and applied to the best advantage of both the company and the individuals. Provides growth-oriented, constructive and timely feedback and/or coaching to the members of the Tribe in order to stimulate their growth and ensures that the points for development are addressed and improved to prevent issues in the future. Establishes a culture of "self-learning and continuous self-improvement".
  • Collaborates with others, develops prioritized Tribe-level backlog, monitors the progress and facilitates the elimination of the impediments and blocking issues, which could not have been resolved by the Tribe members
    themselves.
  • Leads smart use of resources and assets (incl. the life cycle of). Ensures that the right people are deployed to maximize the value-creation opportunities. Manages optimal resources and/or budget allocation incl. vendors/supplies negotiations, contracts, etc. Proactively manages external relations of the Tribe across organizational boundaries. Looks ahead to determine required people capabilities to meet the Tribe’s objectives.
    In collaboration with all the involved stakeholders, takes facts-driven and justified decisions (also difficult ones) and makes required trade-offs.
Acts as the ambassador of the Trible and as such provides insights to the Senior Leadership and peers on the overall Telenet strategy and brings new concepts and/or initiatives forward. Coordinates and aligns beyond own Tribe interest to identify best solutions to deliver highest quality results and enable the value creation.

    • Has deep functional as well as market and context knowledge (e.g. telecom products and services, finance, etc.) to guide the organization and bring best ideas forward.     • Has excellent technical knowledge of IT, Digital and eCommerce systems, networks and applications connected to telecom products and services to be able to do the right challenges.
    • Is able to prepare, manage and follow-up on budgets

    • Bears ultimate responsibility for the realization of the Tribe's goals (incl. cross-Tribe collaboration), and the appropriate utilization and development of Tribe members' expertise.
    • Is able to effectively utilize and integrate the initiatives and various perspectives from all the stakeholders to successfully complete the Tribe's objectives.
    • Ensures the creation and continuous development of optimal product portfolio that matches customer needs and is coherent across the company.
    • Ensures appropriate high-level priority setting of products and services for the Tribe.
    • Has excellent negotiating skills to make required internal trade-offs and/or manage external vendors/suppliers (incl. contracts negotiations and relationship management).
    • Enables the organization’s new way of working by creating and maintaining the Telenet (scaled) agile culture. Fosters self-learning and continuous improvement work environment.
    • Is able to inspire and drive innovation and best solutions exploration across the organization.
  • Nature and area of impact:
    • Translates the global Telenet strategy into strategic direction, objectives and key results and develops these objectives for the Tribe, in cooperation with the relevant Domain/Area/Chapter Lead and Product Owner(s) (PO’s).
    • Is end-responsible for the Tribe’s objectives, key results and delivery of the initiatives and as such monitors activities and progress of the Tribe and takes corrective actions as appropriate in order to contribute to the overall Telenet strategy.
    • Determines the number, size and composition of Squads in the Tribe in collaboration with PO’s and Ch(A)L’s
    • Is a people manager of the Product Owners. This implies providing guidance, constructive feedback and if needed takes staffing related decisions.
    • Enables agile way of working, breaks down siloes and improves working effectiveness by playing an ‘integrator’ role across the organization as needed:
      • collaborating with other Tribe Leaders and stakeholders to resolve escalated bottlenecks and dependencies
      • teaming with Chapter Leadership to help strengthen our people and capabilities
      • fosters sustainable and quality first way of thinking and working.
    • Is responsible for optimal allocation and utilization of resources, assets and budget as well as the revenues generation.

    • Works with the Senior Leadership and peers in or outside the company to align, facilitate decisions and accomplish the goals of the Tribe.
    • Works with the key and strategic partners, including IT companies, SI providers and local integrators to deliver end-to-end successful platforms and business output.
    • Together with the Product Owners and Agile Coaches helps the Tribe members to be more successful by focusing on craftsmanship, improving and sharing the way or working, and creating a high performing team.
    • Represents Tribe interests to Senior Leadership and escalates obstacles, as needed. Coordinates and aligns beyond own Tribe interest to identify best solutions to deliver highest quality results and enable the value creation.
    • Acts as a behavioral leaderhip role model. Motivates and inspires the Tribe members and embeds the agile way of working.
    • Develops and coaches the Tribe members.
    • Collaborates with others to manage and interdependencies and foster the integration between ways of working in order to create an optimal model for supporting and strengthening a Telenet-wide "agile" environment.
    • Performs company-wide stakeholder management (PO's, Ch(A)L's) in order to assign the Tribe members to the Squads where they can bring the most added value.
    • Successfully manages the vendors and partners.
